Self love means letting go

One of the things I love about my job is to bear witness to clients making the choice to choose themselves. In approaching a project, there’s a readiness to edit out that which is no longer serving them or their families.

It’s why I see my role as an organizer as so much more than the person who makes spaces look pretty. It’s about being a safe presence and gently encouraging clients to let go. I’ve lost count how many times people have said “I would have never been able to do this alone,” or “Your questions helped me think about what really matters.”

It’s a beautiful act of self love to let go. It acknowledges that keeping excess is also keeping us from embracing the present and making room for our goals and dreams. The fall and winter seasons are a beautiful reminder that we too won’t be around forever. Here’s wishing everyone the strength to choose themselves, and to let go of any excess contributing to unnecessary stress and overwhelm.
