Snackleboxes and the art of repurposing items

Funny. Weird. But also, genius. It’s no surprise this tweet recently went viral. Who wants to be lounging on the beach, fussing with a million little containers or greasy ziploc bags when you can have everything contained perfectly in one box? Honestly, brilliant.

In just about every client session I’m searching around the house to see what we could use for functional storage solutions, and most of the time we’re using items for things they were not originally intended for:

• Kitchen magnets for managing electrical cords on a wire shelf

• Cutting boards as a base for storing accessories

• Colanders as fruit bowls

• Pencil box for candy storage

The list goes on…! There is rarely a time where we can’t repurpose something already in the house for what we need. It’s one of my favorite challenges about organizing.
